Elon women’s lacrosse enters the new season ready to prove their prowess.

The Phoenix closed out last season 9-8 overall and 5-3 in conference play. Finishing No. 4 in the final CAA standings, they narrowly missed the top three. Now, the team aims to build on that momentum and secure a stronger foothold.

After a Jan. 31 exhibition against Winthrop, the season officially opens Feb. 7 against Virginia Commonwealth. Elon posted a season-high 26 points against VCU last year, making the matchup a promising tone-setter for 2026.

CAA play begins with a road game against Hofstra, following a month of non-conference tests designed to prepare the Phoenix for league competition.

The roster welcomes 13 freshmen joining a veteran core. Star attacker Ana Lee Vandiver, who recorded 51 points and 12 assists last season, returns to anchor the offense and drive playmaking.

Head coach Josh Hexter, who has led the program since its inaugural season in 2014, continues to shape the team with experience and stability.

With fresh talent, established leadership and renewed ambition, the Phoenix look poised to launch a defining season.
