As the time expires in Big Rapids, MI, the Ferris State Bulldogs keep their undefeated season alive by defeating the Ashland Eagles, 56-24 in the second round of the NCAA D2 Football playoffs.

In the matchup, Ashland struck first taking a quick 14-0 lead for a majority of the opening quarter. The Eagles fell into a offensive slump and did not find a spark until the fourth quarter. Ashland also has crucial turnovers to help put the Bulldogs back into optimal field position. 

Despite the loss, the Eagles tallied 422 yards of total offense. Cameron Blair was 8-for-19 on pass completion with 122 yards with two touchdown tosses. Blair also has two interceptions on the day. Chris Maloney was the leader rusher for the Eagles with 198 yards on 24 carries with one touchdown. 

The Ferris State Bulldogs put on an offensive clinic after a slow start in the opening quarter. In the 56-24 victory the Bulldogs tallied 483 yards of total offense. Quarterback Chase Carter was 9-for-17 on pass completion with 135 yards and three touchdowns tosses. Carter was also the leading rusher for the Bulldogs with 91 yards on ten carries with one touchdown. 

Ferris State moves to 12-0 on the season and will take on Minnesota State in the round-three matchup.
