England Rugby and Argentina meet for the third time in 2025 to close out each team’s Nations Series slate, but it’ll be the first meeting between the clubs with their full allotment of players.

England and Los Pumas met in July for a pair of test matches, but those came when England was void of its British and Irish Lions players. They also came on the heels of the PREM Rugby and Top 14 seasons ending in late June, meaning Argentina also was missing some standout players.

However, the results were a bit shocking. 

Argentina entered the summer as the No. 5-ranked team in the world, and a week before the first England match scored a win against those very same British and Irish Lions. It all set up Los Pumas as heavy favorites against the England side, but George Ford and company had different plans.

England swept both matches, which streamed on FloRugby and are available to rewatch on the site.

Those two wins have paved the way for England to have arguably the best 2025 of any country outside of the No. 1-ranked Springboks. Argentina, meanwhile, bounced back in The Rugby Championship with a win over the All Blacks in Argentina and by taking a match from the Wallabies in Australia.

For the second time in less than two months, Los Pumas play in Twickenham, while England tries to finish the autumn undefeated. Here are a few things to know:

England Rugby Coming Off Epic Win Over All Blacks

For the first time in six years, England beat New Zealand. It happened in Round 3 of the Nations Series. 

After trailing 12-0 early, England roared to a 33-19 win in stunning fashion.

It has been a banner year for England. The Roses won the Women’s World Cup, and the men beat France and Scotland (along with Wales and Italy) in the Six Nations. So far this fall, England has picked up wins over Australia, Fiji and the All Blacks.

It all sets up England to enter the Six Nations next year as one of the favorites — if not the favorite — to win something the team hasn't won since 2020.

Argentina Rugby Could Be The Third-Best Team In The World

FloRugby analyst Philip Bendon believes the No. 1 Springboks are on their own level with no country close to them at the moment. Under them, he has England and — surprisingly — Argentina.

Dismissing Argentina’s losses to England in the summer, Los Pumas played the All Blacks close in their final match, 29-27 (they lost the first one 67-30), and since then have crushed Wales and beaten Scotland in Edinburgh.

Arguably the second-most powerful and physical team in the world after South Africa, Argentina can cement that status with a win over a hungry England team.

England Rugby TikTok Blowing Up

When players break team rules in England, they are fined. The fine is a TikTok dance.

“If you do something wrong, you do a TikTok video. Although it doesn’t have to go on TikTok,” Elliot Daly told the BBC after several England players posted a dance following the win over the All Blacks.

Seems like things are going well for England these days.
