AHA Men's Notes: Holy Cross On A Roll, Rivalry Weekend At West Point
Holy Cross is unbeaten over its past seven and hosts Alaska Anchorage for a pair of games, while Air Force and Army square off this weekend at West Point.

Eleven games decorate the upcoming AHA schedule and fans can watch hockey five of the next six nights.
Holy Cross hosts Alaska Anchorage in a Thursday/Sunday series, while Robert Morris plays at Lindenwood on Friday and Saturday. Sacred Heart also hosts LIU on Saturday to round out non-conference action.

A pair of conference series take place this weekend too, as Mercyhurst visits Canisius, and Army hosts Air Force. Bentley also hosts RIT for a single game on Friday and plays at Army on Tuesday.
Here’s what fans can watch for.
Rivalry At West Point
It's one of college hockey's best rivalries, as the service academy foes square off this weekend at West Point.
Air Force leads the all-time series, 53-30-10, and won eight of the nine games from Jan. 22, 2022 through Jan. 20, 2024. However, Army took 10 of the 12 points last season, earning 3-2 and 4-3 (OT) wins at home, and a 2-1 win at Air Force. The final meeting at Air Force was a 4-4 tie, although Army grabbed the extra point in a shootout.

Army (3-5-3, 1-5-2) and Air Force (5-6-1, 2-4-0) are currently tied for sixth in the AHA standings with six points each. Robert Morris also joins them in the three-way tie, although RMU has played fewer conference games than both.
The Black Knights have dropped three straight and find themselves looking to snap an 0-4-2 funk, while the Cadets were swept by Holy Cross last weekend. Air Force is 2-2-0 on the road this season and had won four straight before the Holy Cross season.
Friday and Saturday's games are both set for 7:05 p.m. EST and will be available here on FloHockey.
Crusaders On A Roll
Holy Cross (8-5-1, 7-1-1) currently sits atop the AHA standings with 23 points – four ahead of RIT. The Crusaders dipped back into non-conference play this week, however, with a bit of a unique schedule.
Holy Cross played host to Alaska Anchorage on Thursday, earning a resounding 7-2 win. The two clubs will meet again Sunday at 2 p.m., right here on FloHockey.

The Crusaders earned 3-2 and 4-1 wins at Air Force last weekend and are unbeaten in their last seven, going 6-0-1 in the stretch. The one tie – Oct. 31 against Sacred Heart – was technically a shootout win too, and yielded the Crusaders an extra point.
They’ve out-scored their opponents 30-11 in the seven-game stretch and have received eight points (6-2-8) from Jack Stockfish, who leads the way with 11 (7-4-11) on the season. They’ve also received stellar goaltending from junior Connor MacKenzie and freshman Danick Leroux in the stretch. Holy Cross is allowing 2.8 goals per game on the season.
Holy Cross will travel to Quinnipiac next Wednesday before returning to AHA action on Dec. 6 against Mercyhurst.
Men’s Notes
- Niagara defeated RIT in overtime Tuesday night, 2-1. Senior Ethan Lund scored 2:26 into the extra frame, lifting the Purple Eagles to a home win. Niagara has now won three straight while Tuesday’s loss snapped RIT’s nine-game heater. The two teams will meet three more times this season – Jan. 23-24 and Feb. 10. The latter two are at RIT.

- The AHA announced its Players of the Week on Tuesday. Sacred Heart forward Felix Trudeau, Holy Cross defenseman Will Elias, Sacred Heart goaltender Ajeet Gundarah and Niagara forward Maxim Muranov (Rookie) took home the respective honors.
- Muranov now leads the conference with 13 points, one ahead of Canisius forward Grant Porter. Muranov has eight points (4-4-8) over his past three games and his eight goals also rank second among AHA skaters.
- Bentley captain Stephen Castagna was held point-less against Alaska Anchorage last weekend, ending his point streak at seven games. Castagna still leads Bentley with 11 points (4-7-11) on the season.
- RIT received 15 votes in this week’s USCHO Poll. The Tigers were one of two AHA teams to garner votes, Holy Cross (3) being the other.
