Stripes For Al Carius

North Central is wearing a special striped singlet to honor Al Carius during the Nov. 26 dual against Augustana College. Carius led the Cardinals to 19 NCAA Division III cross-country titles and 12 in track & field. The striped uniforms were a staple of Carius's program, so to honor his legacy, the men's and women's wrestling teams designed custom singlets. Carius died at 83 on September 9, 2025.

Is Simon Fraser Leaving The NCAA?

Simon Fraser University is the only Canadian college in the NCAA, and that might change. The Burnaby, British Columbia-based school has a rich women's wrestling tradition, producing five-time World and Olympic champion Helen Maroulis, 2022 World champion Dom Parrish, four-time WCWA champion Victoria Anthony, and many more.

The Red Leafs won the 2013 WCWA Championships under Mike Jones.

A decision will be made by the end of the month, and a move would mean Simon Fraser would compete in U Sports and Canada West competition. Click here for the detailed report.
