The postseason spotlight returns to Williamsport this Saturday as Lycoming College hosts Washington & Lee in the 2025 Cape Charles Bowl, a Landmark–ODAC crossover matchup streaming live on FloCollege. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. ET at David Person Field at Girardi Stadium.

Lycoming Riding Late-Season Momentum

Lycoming (5–5, 5–1 Landmark) surged into bowl season with four straight wins, transforming a tough 1–5 start into a conference runner-up finish. Their offense exploded over the final month, climbing from just over 20 points per game to nearly 34, while the defense tightened to allow about 18 points per outing.

Junior running back Terrence Oliver headlines the Warriors’ attack after a dominant season with 1,222 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns — leading the conference by a wide margin. Sophomore quarterback Joe Lyons III stabilized the passing game with a 63% completion rate and 10 touchdowns in league play, supported by reliable targets Karson Kline, Dawson Debebe, and Brendan Clark.

Defensively, linebackers Daniel Atsou and Khalil Johnson have been disruptive forces, combining for strong tackle production and consistent backfield pressure. Veteran defensive back Mario Samony anchors the secondary with timely takeaways.

With momentum building and home-field advantage on their side, Lycoming enters the bowl brimming with confidence.

Washington & Lee Brings Balance and Bowl Experience

Washington & Lee (6–4, 6–2 ODAC) makes its third straight appearance in the Chesapeake Challenge series, leaning on its trademark run-heavy offense and a disciplined defense that has allowed just 20 points per game.

The Generals’ ground game is powered by the duo of Ryan Clemens (898 yards, 8 TDs) and Anthony Crawford (701 yards, 9 TDs). Quarterback Ty Collins has been efficient when called upon, throwing 7 touchdowns on fewer than 130 attempts, with big-play receiver Teddy Sparrow stretching defenses vertically.

Linebacker Brennan Stout leads the W&L defense with more than 100 tackles, while Will Knight and Gabe Joyner help round out a unit known for containing explosive plays and forcing long fields.

What to Expect

This matchup brings together two teams that thrive on physicality and clock control. Both boast strong rushing identities, emerging quarterbacks, and defenses that tighten in key moments.

With Lycoming having topped W&L in a tight 20–17 contest two years ago in a similar bowl setting, this year's meeting adds a layer of familiarity — and unfinished business for the Generals.

Expect a competitive, possession-driven game where turnovers, red-zone execution, and line-of-scrimmage battles dictate who lifts the Cape Charles Bowl trophy.
