The Week 10 action of FCS football season play on November 1 can only be described with one word: despair.

Despair for eight teams ranked in the FCS Coaches Poll top 25 headlined by the nine-win Tarleton State Texans taking their first loss of the season in a close one to Abilene Christian Wildcats as they scratch and claw to remain in the rankings with four losses.

The Wildcats earned the biggest bump across both polls, climbing five and six spots.

UC Davis was the biggest loser this week, falling to three-win Idaho State in a game which they never held more than a field goal's lead and spent most of their time fighting from behind.

Three 40+ yard field goals by Andrew Lastovka and three Beau Brungard touchdowns weren't enough to help the No. 19 Youngstown State Penguins as the top-ranked North Dakota State Bison held onto their perfect season.

The top teams in the CAA are back in action on FloCollege this weekend after a late season bye for a few of them.

Monmouth, Villanova and Rhode Island benefitted heavily from the losses across the top 10 this week—each moving up a few spots and adding even more stakes to their tight race through the last few weekends heading into playoffs.
