The Ferris State Bulldogs held on to secure a 38-31 victory over the Grand Valley State Lakers. In a game that saw each team go toe-to-toe the entire way through, there are several plays that shaped the mood to secure a Ferris State victory.
The Bulldogs remain undefeated on the season and with the win in the Anchor-Bone Classic, have almost certainly secured a conference title and a playoff spot. So without further ado, here are the three plays that sealed the deal for Ferris State.
Three Plays That Determined Ferris State vs. GVSU
Errors by Grand Valley State
Late in the fourth quarter, the Grand Valley State Lakers had done the work on defense to force a fourth down that would had caused the Bulldogs to punt and turn the ball over on downs. The Lakers jumped offsides to reset the downs for the Bulldogs and just a few plays later, Grand Valley State picked up a 15-yard penalty.
Wyatt Bowers Final Touchdown
The second play that sealed the deal for the Bulldogs was the final touchdown by their leader on offense Wyatt Bower. Bower was all bark and bite for Ferris State as he muscled his way into the end zone to secure a 14-point lead with only a few minutes remaining in regulation.

Defense Shows Up In Big Moments
Late in the third quarter when the score was only separated by four points, the momentum was swung in favor of the Bulldogs courtesy of an interception. Senior defensive back Justin Payoute snagged the pick from the hand of Andrew Schuster in the end zone to put the ball back in Ferris State's hands.
