Delta State Holds Off West Alabama's Late Comeback, Wins 41-38
West Alabama’s furious rally falls just short as Delta State runs out the clock to secure a narrow 41-38 Gulf South Conference victory.

Delta State outlasted West Alabama 41-38 in a thrilling Gulf South Conference matchup at Tiger Stadium.
The Statesmen opened strong, with early touchdowns from Cole Kirk and Neno Lemay, building a 34-17 halftime lead.
West Alabama clawed back in the second half, sparked by rushing scores from Michael Dujon and Brayden Jenkins, narrowing the gap. But a late third quarter touchdown widened the distance again to 41-31.

A late touchdown pass from West Alabama's Spencer Arceneaux to Houston Johnson made it 41-38 with just over two minutes remaining, but Delta State’s strategic use of timeouts and Garrett Ames’ kneel-downs ran out the clock to seal the win.
With the victory, Delta State improved to 7-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play, strengthening its position as a GSC contender. West Alabama, despite a strong rally, fell to 5-2 and 0-2 in conference, facing a tougher path toward postseason contention after its second straight loss against a conference opponent.

Delta State Runs Clock to Secure 41-38 Win
Delta State 41 - 38 West Alabama
Delta State strategically used their timeouts to disrupt momentum and eventually ran the clock with a kneel down by Garrett Ames. The Statesmen will take home the win, improving to 7-1 overall and 1-0 conference.
The Tigers started off slow, but ended up gaining momentum, even outscoring Delta State in the later two quarters. Their effort was not quite enough to make up for the first half. The loss places them 5-2 overall and 0-2 in conference.
