Fans of elite no-gi submission grappling, in person and online, again will be treated to a diverse collection of talent that will include familiar faces and top regional talent.
WNO 30 will feature a main eight-man bracket with grapplers from different weight classes, three highly anticipated super fights on the main card and another four undercard matchups that may reveal the sport’s next big superstar.
The final spot in the bracket was determined Saturday night in a special eight-man local qualifying event hosted by the 247 Fighting Championships, with Pittsburgh standout Justin Michael winning to earn a spot in WNO 30.
The main-card clash between heavyweights Devhonte Johnson and Gutemberg Pereira will be a rematch and a shot at redemption for which Pereira has been waiting two years. Johnson defeated him by judge’s decision in a gi match at BJJ Stars 10 in 2023.
A noteworthy clash for the lightweights will feature 2024 Breakout Grappler of the Year Owen Jones of the United Kingdom against Gavin Corbe, who is making his WNO debut.
The final showdown on the main card will be between two top-tier female grapplers, Sarah Galvao and Trinity Pun, who certainly have nothing to prove, other than the fact that they’re not going anywhere anytime soon.
In July, WNO 29 took place in Miami and included a balanced card of competitors, from veterans to up-and-coming young standouts looking to make a name for themselves.
WNO debuted in 2020 and has since brought more than two dozen events and countless unforgettable moments to a worldwide audience. Take a look back at the history of WNO.
