A Look At The Schedule For The '25 Brian Keck Memorial Preseason Nationals

Before the 2025-2026 USA Wrestling and school wrestling seasons get underway, and everyone goes their separate ways to focus on local and in-state competition, the 2025 Brian Keck Memorial Preseason Nationals & Boys National Recruiting Showcase will bring the nation’s top young talent together for the ultimate showcase.
Since its inaugural edition in 2008, the event has continued to grow in entries and prestige, attracting folkstyle wrestlers from first grade through high school.
This year, they’ll converge on the EMC Expo Center, part of the Iowa Events Center, in Des Moines, Iowa, and competition will take place from Oct. 23-26.

Once again, the competitors will be separated by grade level and weight class, giving them a chance to wrestle against their peers, while older entrants hope to take advantage of the opportunity to perform in front of collegiate coaches and recruiters.

- 3 p.m. – Event venue, practice mats and check scales open
- 3 p.m.-5 p.m. – Credential pick-up – high school boys and coaches only
- 6 p.m.-7 p.m. – Credential pick-up – high school boys and coaches only
- 4 p.m.-7 p.m. – Box office open
- 4 p.m.-5 p.m. or 7-8 p.m. – Medical check/weigh-ins – 9th-10th boys; 11th-12th boys
Thursday, Oct. 23
- 7:30 a.m. – Doors open for athletes and coaches
- 7:30 a.m.-8:15 a.m. – Credential pick-up – high school boys and coaches only
- 8 a.m-8:30 a.m. – Medical checks/weigh-ins – 9th-10th boys and 11th-12th boys only, if not weighed in night before

About Brian Keck
Brian Keck worked with USA Wrestling to create Preseason Nationals, which debut in 2008, as a showcase event for folkstyle wrestlers of all ages.
The inaugural edition was held in Des Moines, Iowa, before shifting to Cedar Falls, Iowa, for nearly a decade. It has been back in Des Moines since 2018.
Keck remained a part of the event until his death in 2019, helping the tournament to grow in prestige and size each year. He was 48 years old when he died.
