The wait for the next Olympic Games already feels like forever, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other way to watch the world’s best athletes showcase their skills on an international stage.

Up next for the top young wrestlers from across the globe is the 2025 U23 World Championships, which will be held at the Sports and Business Center Vojvodina in Novi Sad, Serbia, from Oct. 20-27.

Over the eight days of competition, 700 athletes will participate in one of three categories – Greco-Roman, women’s freestyle or men’s freestyle.

For wrestling fans in the United States, all of the action will be broadcast live on FloWrestling and the FloSports app.

Each discipline at the SPC Vojvodina will include 10 weight classes, and the entry list features future stars, up and comers, collegiate standouts, world champions, Olympic medalists and more. 

At the 2024 U23 World Championships, Iran shined, topping the medal table with six gold medals, while also landing atop the Men’s Freestyle and Men’s Greco-Roman team rankings. In Women’s Freestyle, the United States reigned. 

This year marks the eighth edition of the event, which first was held in 2017, but did not take place in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The previous host cities have been Bydgoszcz, Poland (2017); Bucharest, Romania (2018); Budapest, Hungary (2019); Belgrade, Serbia (2021); Pontevedra, Spain (2022); Tirana, Albania (2023, 2024). The 2026 U23 World Championships will be held in Las Vegas.

All of the excitement from Serbia will kick off Oct. 20 with the start of Greco-Roman competition, which will share the spotlight with the women’s events, beginning Oct. 21. Qualification rounds for the men’s freestyle competition will get underway Oct. 25.

The final matches of the U23 World Championships will be the men’s freestyle medal rounds on Oct. 27.
