The Vodacom Bulls have made 11 changes to their starting XV following last week’s defeat in Ulster.
Young lock Reinhardt Ludwig captains the South African side, which features a fresh combination of power forwards and explosive backs, including Willie le Roux and Canan Moodie.
Connacht head coach Stuart Lancaster expects an intense challenge against one of the URC’s most physical teams.
“The Vodacom Bulls are a formidable side, with a strong blend of power up front and pace in the back field,” Lancaster said. “They were BKT URC finalists for a reason last year, and we’re expecting a response after their defeat in Ulster last week.”
Vodacom Bulls head coach Johan Ackermann said the team has prepared for the conditions and the challenge ahead.
“I’m surprised Connacht lost to Cardiff after a strong first game,” Ackermann said. “They’re a quality team, like Ulster, with big ball carriers and Stuart Lancaster coaching. With several British & Irish Lions returning, they’ll be strong and motivated after a home loss.”
