Defending champion John Korir and Ethiopia’s Megertu Alemu lead the elite fields for the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, set for Sunday, October 12.

Korir returns after his 2:02:44 win last year, the second-fastest time in race history. The Kenyan backed it up with a Boston Marathon victory earlier this year and has his sights set on a sub-2:01 performance — a time only Kelvin Kiptum has ever achieved officially.
