Leinster Rugby returns to Aviva Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 11, for one of Round 3’s most anticipated BKT United Rugby Championship fixtures against the Hollywoodbets Sharks.
The Irish powerhouse will look to continue its strong home form, while the South African visitors close out their European tour determined to rebound from a tough opening stretch.
Leinster contact skills coach Seán O’Brien said the team’s focus this week has been on controlling what it can and meeting the physical challenge the Sharks will bring.

“The Sharks can hurt you pretty badly when they're on,” O’Brien said. “We have to prepare as best we possibly can, first and foremost. Whatever they throw at us, hopefully we have an answer for it.”
He added that Leinster’s attention this week has been inward, with an emphasis on sharp execution and intensity in the breakdown.
“But this week, in particular, I think it's more about focusing on ourselves and what we can bring to the table, making sure we have covered all our detail and we get our pitch right when we get to the game on Saturday in terms of the physicality,” O’Brien said. “They'll be hurting from this tour already, having drawn a game and lost a game. They'll want to finish very strongly.”
O’Brien said the Sharks’ style mirrors much of what has made South African teams dangerous in the URC.
“They're a big pack of forwards with extremely quick backs, so typical of South African teams at the minute,” he said. “If you're in any way loose or not on it, you'll get punished very quickly. We'll focus on ourselves and make sure we've covered all we can do.”
