3 Things To Know About Towson Women's Basketball In 2025-26
From returning veterans to a challenging schedule, here are 3 key storylines for Towson women’s basketball before the 2025-26 CAA season.

Towson women’s basketball enters the 2025-26 season with confidence and experience after finishing last year with a strong run in the Coastal Athletic Association Tournament.
Head coach Laura Harper’s team went 12-20 overall and 8-10 in conference play but ended the season with three postseason wins before falling to Campbell in the semifinals. That late surge, coupled with five key veterans returning, positions the Tigers to make significant progress this winter.

The Tigers built their identity on rebounding and physical defense in 2024-25, out-rebounding opponents by nearly two boards per game and averaging more than 38 rebounds per outing. Their 59.2 points per game were backed by improved three-point shooting down the stretch, and their experience across all positions will once again be the backbone of their season.
With a schedule that features early matchups against national powers and crucial CAA home games in February, Towson’s growth under Harper will be worth watching. Here are three things to know heading into 2025-26.
1. Senior Guards Lead The Way
Few CAA programs can match Towson’s senior experience in the backcourt. India Johnston averaged 12.5 points per game while shooting 35 percent from three, and Semaya Turner provided steady defense and rebounding at 4.3 boards per contest. Their chemistry, leadership, and ability to control tempo will shape the Tigers’ offensive rhythm as Harper’s system continues to evolve.
2. Frontcourt Physicality Remains A Strength
The Tigers’ success last year started inside. Towson’s size helped it dominate the paint. With the return of Kayla Morris and the addition of newcomers like Jaymee Wadey and Aidan Langley, that frontcourt depth only deepens for 2025-26.
3. The Schedule Tests Towson Early
Towson’s 2025-26 schedule includes early nonconference road tests at Virginia Tech, Maryland, and Georgetown. Home games against Frostburg State, Stetson, and Lehigh provide key opportunities to build momentum before CAA play begins in January. By the time the Tigers return to SECU Arena for matchups against UNCW, Monmouth, and Drexel, they’ll have faced some of the region’s toughest competition.
