Hampton men’s basketball is set for another season of growth and competition under head coach Ivan Thomas, who leads the Pirates into a challenging 2025-26 slate featuring strong nonconference tests and key Coastal Athletic Association matchups. 

The team, which went 17-16 last season and finished 8-10 in CAA play, will aim to build on that momentum with a mix of veteran leadership and young depth.

The Pirates open the year on Nov. 3 at Milwaukee before returning to Hampton for their home opener on Nov. 6 against Mid-Atlantic Christian. 

They’ll visit Virginia on Nov. 11 and Boston College a week later, with additional road trips to Brown, Norfolk State, and UMES rounding out the early stretch. Hampton will also play neutral-site games against Jackson State and Grambling State in Atlanta.

Conference play begins in January with a series of home contests that include N.C. A&T, Monmouth, UNCW, Elon and William & Mary. Road challenges at Drexel, Towson, and Hofstra will test the Pirates’ road poise late in the season.

The regular season wraps up March 3 at William & Mary. The CAA Championships begin March 6 at CareFirst Arena in Washington, D.C., where Hampton will look to make a postseason push.
