The 2025 Chicago Marathon is set for Sunday, Oct. 12, with more than 50,000 runners expected to fill the streets of the Windy City.
As one of the seven World Marathon Majors, the event attracts athletes and spectators from all 50 states and more than 100 countries.

First held in 1905, the marathon’s course has evolved significantly over the years. Today, it features a loop that starts and finishes in Grant Park and winds through Chicago’s neighborhoods, passing landmarks such as Wrigley Field, the United Center, Rate Field and Soldier Field.
Here’s the schedule for the 2025 Chicago Marathon on Oct. 12.

- Marathon Wheelchair Start (men): 7:20 a.m.
- Marathon Wheelchair Start (women): 7:21 a.m.
- Marathon Handcycle Start: 7:23 a.m.
- Marathon Wave 1 Start: 7:30 a.m.
- Marathon Wave 2 Start: 8 a.m.
- Marathon Wave 3 Start: 8:35 a.m.
- Spectator access to Grant Park begins: 9:30 a.m.
