Stony Brook enters the 2025-26 season looking for growth after a challenging 2024-25 campaign that ended with an 8-24 record and a 4-14 mark in Coastal Athletic Association play.

The Seawolves return with a refreshed roster, with just three returners and plenty of new faces set to make an impact. Former guard CJ Luster, who averaged 16.8 points per game last season and earned a spot on the All-CAA Third Team, has since left the roster. Collin O’Connor, recognized on the CAA All-Rookie Team, remains and adds depth and energy in the backcourt.

Despite last year’s struggles, Stony Brook showed flashes of potential with close conference wins, including victories over Hofstra and Elon late in the season.

The incoming class and graduate transfers expand the team’s options, especially in the frontcourt. With Geno Ford back on the sidelines as head coach, the Seawolves aim to improve their competitiveness in league play.

The 2025-26 schedule offers opportunities for early wins at home before CAA play begins. Stony Brook’s slate includes a neutral-site tournament in Florida and challenging road trips to Yale, Duquesne, and Loyola Marymount. How well the team navigates those games will set the tone for its CAA campaign just a month later.
