Elon women’s basketball heads into the 2025-26 season following a year of growth and resilience.

The Phoenix finished 15-15 overall and 9-9 in Coastal Athletic Association play, highlighted by victories over Delaware, Hofstra, and Towson. Their ability to win close games — seven victories by six points or fewer — underscored the team’s competitiveness in a tightly contested league.

The team was led by former forward Raven Preston, who averaged 12.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, ranking among the CAA’s most impactful players. Her consistency on the glass and ability to generate offense in tough situations made her a go-to option, and Elon's play may alter in her absence.

Head coach Charlotte Smith now has an updated roster featuring a blend of returners and impact newcomers. Transfers like LaNae’ Corbett and Quinzia Fulmore add size and experience, while younger players such as Ashanti Fox and Tamia Watkins bring in some fresh talent.

With challenging nonconference games against North Carolina, Georgetown, and East Carolina, the Phoenix will be tested early before shifting their focus to the CAA schedule.

A Balanced Backcourt

Jayda Angel and Laila Anderson brought stability to the guard rotation last season, combining for nearly 17 points per game. Angel also added 48 steals, ranking among the team leaders in defensive production.

Transfers Add Frontcourt Depth

Elon bolstered its frontcourt with LaNae’ Corbett, a transfer from Hofstra, and Quinzia Fulmore, who arrives after playing at Towson and Memphis. Both bring size and versatility to a rotation that already features Preston.

97 Point High

Elon scored a season high of 97 points against opponent Lees-McRae on the last day of 2024, right before moving into CAA play. The game signifies how the team utilizes non conference games to build strength for conference games and can put up some serious points.
