They’ll look to defend their position in the Coastal Athletic Association after posting strong individual honors in 2025, including CJ Fulton being named CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year. 

Here are three things to know heading into the season.

Guard Play Will Define the Offense

Charleston boasts depth in the backcourt with players such as Connor Hickman and Jlynn Counter leading the attack. The Cougars have multiple scoring options at guard, which should drive the pace and spacing.

Frontcourt Size Adds Matchup Problems

With Christian Reeves at 7-2 and Chol Machot at 7-0, Charleston’s frontcourt has uncommon size for the CAA. Those options give the Cougars rim protection and rebounding advantages in league play.

Chris Mack Brings Stability in Year Two

Chris Mack returns for his second season at Charleston after quickly implementing his system in year one. The Cougars expect consistency in style and leadership with his proven coaching background.
