Monmouth women’s basketball is aiming to build momentum after a competitive 2024-25 campaign that saw the Hawks finish 16-15 overall and 10-8 in Coastal Athletic Association play. 

The program showcased one of the league’s most effective inside-out combinations, highlighted by former guard Damaris Rodriguez, who was named to the All-CAA First Team, and former forward Taisha Exanor, who earned All-CAA Second Team honors. 

Both players were cornerstones of Monmouth’s ability to rebound, defend, and stay in tight games, particularly during a stretch of key CAA wins. Without them on the roster, Monmouth will need to make new strategies to utilize their new roster's strengths.

The Hawks are now guided by head coach Cait Wetmore, who enters the 2025-26 season with a fresh roster mix that blends veteran presence and international recruits.

A year ago, Monmouth was one of the top rebounding teams in the league, averaging 40.2 boards per game, and used that physical presence to keep pace with some of the CAA’s best.

With a challenging non conference slate that includes Kentucky and Maryland Eastern Shore, and a league schedule packed with tough road environments, Monmouth’s depth will be tested early.
