Week 5 of the NCAA DII season is quickly approaching. With kickoff set for Oct. 4, Lenior-Rhyne and Valdosta State will square off in Valdosta, GA. 

Both teams come into the contest with two wins under their belts in a still early 2025 season. The momentum for these teams is going to be at an all time time as both are trying to get back into the win column after a loss in Week 4. 

The Bears and the Blazers square off soon, so here is a deep dive of the top things to know heading into the matchup. 

The Lenoir-Rhyne Bears will be the visitor in the contest on Oct. 4. The Bears are 2-3 overall and 2-2 in SAC play. In the most recent contest on Sept. 27, Lenoir-Rhyne picked up a home loss to Newberry, 20-17. In the loss, the Bears tallied 422 yards of offense. 

Starting quarterback Khamoni Robinson was 17-for-27 on pass completion with 213 yards and one touchdown toss. Zayvion Turner-Knox was the leading rusher for the Bears with 103 yards on 19 carries. 

Valdosta State will play host to the Bears at Bazemore Hayder Stadium. The Blazers enter the contest 2-2 on the season. 

The Blazers will try to protect their home field this week after suffering a home opener loss to North Carolina Pembroke on Sept. 27. In the 31-0 loss, Valdosta tallied 312 yards of offense but just could not find the end zone. 

Quarterback Harris Boyd was 21-for-35 on pass completion with 201 yards. Xyre Wilson was the leading reciever for the Blazer in the loss, with 86 yards on six receptions.
