Stanislaus State topped last week’s standout team, UC Merced, and rose to second in the CCAA standings. 

Cal State San Marcos beat Cal State San Bernardino in a 1–0 shutout and moved up to the third spot. Cal Poly Pomona stays perfect, topping both the CCAA standings and the DII NCAA national rankings.

The Stanislaus State Warriors began their weekend on the road with a 2–2 tie with Biola. UC Merced entered the face-off with an unbeaten season and tight defense. The Warriors worked to put pressure on the Bobcats, but UC Merced dominated possession with five shots on goal. Stanislaus State goalie Zara Mujica stayed firm and blocked all the shots. The Warriors persisted in their pressure and scored a goal with two seconds left on the clock. The ball found the net after bouncing off the UC Merced goalie’s block attempt.
