San Diego surged to No. 11 after two shutout wins, while Wake Forest dropped to 13 following a 3-6 loss to Virginia. Stanford slid to No. 6 after a draw to San Jose State, as Michigan, Marshall, Indiana and Portland climbed. Virginia, after dominating the top team, entered the top 25 list for the first time since Poll 1.

University of San Diego makes the biggest leap this week, climbing from No. 23 into the top 11 after two clean-sheet wins. USD edged UC Irvine 2-0 and followed that up with a hard-fought 1-0 over UC San Diego.

In the UCI game, Godwin Antwi opened the scoring just past the 70-minute mark off a corner, and late in the 89th minute Devin Zachry broke free after a long pass to tuck home from eight yards.

San Diego out-shot UCI 10-5, getting solid control especially in the second half, and kept Irvine off the board entirely. The win over UCSD reinforced their defensive resilience and ability to grind out results.

Wake Forest, previously at the top, falls to No. 13 after a 3-6 defeat at Virginia. The Cavaliers struck early and often, posting four goals before halftime and putting up six by full time.

Wake Forest made some adjustments in the second half and scored three times (75th, 79th and 88th minutes) but couldn’t overcome Virginia’s offensive onslaught.

In week 2, University of Virginia lost to George Mason, who was No. 11 at the time. This effectively dropped them off the top 25 list. Since then, Virginia has only improved their game which became the most apparent after beating Louisville (1-), then No. 6, and Wake Forest (6-3), then No. 1.

The incredible three-point win margin against Wake Forest earned UVA a spot straight back in the top half.

Stanford drops from No. 3 to No. 6 after a 2-2 draw with San Jose State and then a win over Virginia Tech (3-1). At San Jose State, Stanford struck early but allowed a second half fight back and needed a late goal from Alfonso Tenconi-Gradillas in the 89th to rescue a draw.

Teams like Michigan, Marshall, Indiana, and Portland continue to rise in the rankings thanks to unbeaten or near-unbeaten records. Virginia moves into the No. 12 spot, breaking into the chart with a strong showing this week. Also entering the rankings are Marist, Notre Dame, Maryland, Bucknell, and George Mason, each having built enough momentum to get national attention.
