Noah Lyles Wins Fourth Straight 200M Gold at World Championship

Noah Lyles fought off the field with a late surge, earning his fourth straight 200-meter world title with a time of 19.52 (+0.0). That matches the four straight 200-meter world titles won by Usain Bolt from 2009 through 2015.

Through 100 meters, Bryan Levell of Jamaica held the lead at 10.03, Kenny Bednarek was second split at 10.09, and running third at that time, gaining momentum, was Lyles, splitting 10.12. As they closed out the run, Bednarek had the lead for a short time down the front stretch before Lyles surged ahead of the gold before the line.

Kenny Bednarek was second at 19:58, a season best for silver. Bryan Levell of Jamaica was third at 19.64.
