In Week 3 of the NCAA football season, all eyes are  on a NCAA D3 matchup taking place on Saturday, Sept. 20. 

In just the third week of the NCAA D3 football season, a top-five matchup is happening as No.3-ranked Johns Hopkins will travel to take on No.4-ranked Susquehanna. In these rankings from D3football.com, Johns Hopkins and Susquehanna have been on each other’s heels in the rankings since the preseason. 

Johns Hopkins will head into the contest 2-0 on the season thus far. The Blue Jays took a commanding 42-14 victory over Ithaca to open the season on Sept. 6 and carried that momentum into the matchup on Sept. 13 against John Carroll with a 27-13 victory. 

In the most recent victory over John Carroll, the Blue Jays tallied 339 yards of offense and capitalized on the passing game with 273 yards through the air. Quarterback Bay Harvey was 17-for-31 on pass completion for 273 yards and three touchdown passes. Cole Crotty was the  leading receiver for the Blue Jays with 118 yards on eight receptions with one touchdown. 

For Susquehanna, the Riverhawks will also enter the contest 2-0 on the season. Susquehanna opened its season with a victory over Union College, 33-14 on Sept. 6. Most recently, the Riverhawks claimed a massive 56-17 victory over Bridgewater College on Sept. 13.  

In the victory over Bridgewater College, the Riverhawks tallied a total of 557 yards of offense. The run game was powerful for Susquehanna as 325 yards came on the ground. Josh Ehrlich was 21-for-29 on pass completion for 188 yards with four touchdown passes. Aaron Angelo was the lead rusher for the RiverHawks with 92 yards on six carries and two touchdowns.
