A Deep Dive Into Carson-Newman Vs. Lenoir-Rhyne Football
Lenoir-Rhyne and Carson-Newman are facing off in their second SAC game of the season each, with both teams coming in with a 2-1 record. Here's what to know.

In a high-powered Southern Athletic Conference matchup, the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears are facing off against the Carson-Newman Eagles in a game the FloCollege team has dubbed the battle of the hyphens. To keep the competitive spirit alive, the team that loses will have to drop the hyphen from their official name (we’re kidding, but are we really?).

Both teams come into the matchup at 2-1, and each has at least one conference game under their belt.
Last week, the Eagles were upset in overtime by Mars Hill, falling 31-24. Carson-Newman responded after being held scoreless in the first half, rallying to score 24 second half points to force overtime, but were unable to complete the comeback.
For the Bears, it was nearly the opposite situation of the Eagles. The Bears got off to a hot start, scoring 28 first half points, while holding Emory & Henry to just three, but were held to just three points themselves in the second half.
Despite not putting a touchdown on the board in the second half, the field goal was enough to lift Lenoir-Rhyne over Emory & Henry.
For the Bears, quarterback Khamoni Robinson leads their offense, and has 770 yards and seven touchdowns so far. He also leads the team in rushing with 157 yards and two touchdowns.
Tedros Gleaton leads the Eagles, and through two official games (CN played an exhibition game in week two), he has thrown for 174 yards and three touchdowns. He also leads the team in rushing with 161 yards and two touchdowns.
Carson-Newman is hungry to get back to winning, and Lenoir-Rhyne is looking to keep their winning streak alive.
Here’s what to know about the game.
