In a tight season-opening weekend, DBU stays on top of the week 1 Lone Star Conference Women’s Soccer Standings. As Angelo State falls to eighth, Texas Woman’s swoops in to replace it at second. UT Tyler emerges from the middle to snag the third spot, while UT Dallas (previously No. 12) and West Texas A&M (previously No. 10) follow closely behind.

DBU earned a 3-1 win over Mississippi College in their season opener and followed it up with a 2-0 victory against Regis, looking to prove their No. 15 spot on the NCAA DII preseason poll was no fluke. Texas Woman’s opened the season strong with a 2-1 win over Oklahoma Christian and a 3-0 shutout against Southwestern Oklahoma State, asserting their presence near the top.

UT Tyler’s two-win starts, including a 3-1 triumph against Rogers State and a narrow 1-0 victory over East Central, shows they were overlooked in the preseason polls. UT Dallas also impressed with a 5-0 shutout against Oklahoma Baptist. The Comets came back from a one point trail against Rogers State in the second half to put the game at a draw.
