Lone Star Women's Soccer Preseason Rankings 2025: DBU Edges Angelo State

Dallas Baptist University (DBU) is named the Lone Star Conference (LSC) women’s soccer favorite based on a recent preseason poll. The team snagged 650 total points and 29 out of the 45 possible first place votes. Angelo State trails with 634 points and 13 first place votes.
This comes after Angelo State earned both the LSC regular season and tournament titles last season. Finally Texas Women’s (556) and Midwestern State (511) round out the top four.
Lone Star Conference game play begins Sept. 4 with a match up between Oklahoma Christian and Colorado Christian.

In 2024, DBU went 14-2-5 overall and 10-1-2 in conference. In addition to the top ranking in LSC, they sit at 15th on the NCAA DII national preseason poll. The team fell to Angelo State in overtime in the 2024 LSC tournament final (1-2).
They similarly closed out the season with an overtime loss to the same team (0-1). Despite this, the team hopes to come back stronger. On their side is senior Parker Coe, named Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, and long time head coach Marcus Wood.
Angelo State also earned themselves a spot on the NCAA DII preseason national ranking at number 18. The Rambelles went 14-2-5 overall and 10-0-3 in conference the previous season.
