Gulf South Women's Soccer Preseason Ranking: Argos Veterans Return For 2025

The University of West Florida is named the number one Gulf South Conference (GSC) women’s soccer women’s soccer team in the preseason coaches poll with 144 points and all 12 possible first-place votes.
Following behind stands Montevallo with 132 points and one first-place vote, and Lee nabs third with 122 points.
The GCS season begins Sept. 4 with a game between Flagler and West Florida in Pensacola and concludes Nov. 15 with the championship match.

This is the second year in a row that West Florida was named the favorite in the preseason poll. They finished 2024 with 17-1-4 overall and 10-0-1 record in conference play, winning them their 12th GCS Championship.
The team’s coach Joe Bartlinski is one of the winningest NCAA coaches with a 363-65-26 record and has served 23 seasons at UWF.
Montevallo comes in second in the poll after which reflects the results of their 2024 GCS season play. They finished 2024 with a 14-6-3 overall record, earning them the 19th spot in the NCAA DII preseason poll.
The 2025 season brings a host of new talent for the team. Twelve new falcons will join 16 returning players to make up this year’s roster. As their head coach Jake Wyman enters his 6th season, the team will continue their push to move up the ladder.
