Lycoming’s Sept. 6 face off against The College of New Jersey marks Cillo’s first game as jersey No. 40, taking the field at 6-feet and 227 pounds. Despite his rookie status, the defensive lineman is no stranger to athleticism. Cillo has a history of participating in strongman competitions where athletes lift heavy weights for strength and endurance.
Lycoming football coach Mike Clark received a message from Cillo who explained his interest in trying out for the team. Clark took a chance on Cillo who ultimately earned himself a spot owing largely to his commitment and weight room prowess.
Adjusting to the rigor of football training still creates a major learning curve for Cillo, according to Northcentralpa.com. He is also tasked with navigating his course load. But, the determination that put him in this position will continue to carry him through. Cillo adds value to the team off the field with his discipline and continues to inspire people of all ages through his social media presence. As Cillo often captions his videos, live your dream.
