The George Fox University football team returned to action in 2014 after a 45-year hiatus.

Chris Casey was hired to lead the team back onto the field, which he did each year for 11 seasons, compiling a 51-48 record.

After the 2024 campaign, during which the Bruins were 4-6 overall and 2-5 in the Northwest Conference, Casey announced his retirement after more than four decades as a football coach.

The responsibility for the team’s future now belongs to Spencer Crace, who previously was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Pacific Lutheran, another NWC team.

The newest era in Bruins football will get underway on the road Sept. 6 against Redlands. 

The first official Northwest Conference game for Crace and his squad will be at home Oct. 4 against Linfield, the reigning NWC champion. 

Under Casey’s leadership, George Fox reached as high as No. 19 in the national rankings (2017), had a best of eight wins (2022) and notched a pair of second-places finishes in the NWC.

When Do The 2025 NCAA Division III College Football Playoffs Start?

The first round of the 2025 NCAA Division III Playoffs will be Nov. 22.

The 2025 Division III Football Championship title game will be played Jan. 10, 2026, at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.
