Following their third-place finish in NE10 play in 2024, the Saint Anselm football program was picked second in the NE10 2025 preseason poll, their highest placement ever. The Hawks will have a veteran team in 2025, returning four All-NE10 players.

Quarterback Drew Forkner is now a veteran in the conference after throwing for 1,854 yards and 13 touchdowns as a sophomore. Going into his junior season, he’s full of confidence to lead the team. 

On the ground, Jake Croce is looking to have an even more explosive season as a sophomore, following up his 443-yard, seven-touchdown freshman season. The one offensive area that lacks veterans is the wide receiver room, which lost its top three receivers. Patrick Yesinko is the top returning receiver, and he caught 35 passes for 338 yards. Jaidin Haynes is the next, and caught 26 passes for 226 yards and one touchdown last season. 

On defense, a solid group of veterans is returning, led by linebacker Aidan Noke, who had 61 tackles, including a team-high eight tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. Behind him, John Hosney is returning as a strong presence in the secondary and led the team in interceptions with three. He also had eight pass breakups and one forced fumble to complement his 44 tackles. 

On the defensive line, Stephen Laguerre is set to move into a starting spot, looking to fill in the open spots after his 44 tackles, five tackles for loss and two sacks season in 2024.

While the defense may have lost several veterans, the returning players are primed to lead the team and continue the positive trend for Saint Anselm football. After finishing at .500 with a 5-5 record, the Hawks are looking to break even with their record and get over the hump of winning seven games for the first time in program history.
