Tinch had a stellar weekend in Eugene, despite coming up short of the US Championship Title. He posted a 13.11 (-0.1) in the semi-finals and came up just short of the overall title with his 13.03 (+0.7) final effort. He finished second behind Ja'Kobe Tharp.
Cunningham missed the podium, finishing fourth. He will almost certainly chase the Wanda Diamond League title - as his last opportunity to qualify for the World Championship meet in September.
He is currently fourth in the Diamond League Standings with 16 points. He won the Paris Diamond League meeting and the Monaco Diamond League meeting. With a respectable finish in Lausanne, he can lock in his spot to compete at the Diamond League Final. Tinch and Rachid Muratake are already mathematically locked into the final. Tinch could choose to forego the Diamond League final and instead shift his focus to the 2025 World Championship.
Henrique Llopis, Jason Joseph and Just Kwaou-Mathey are also entered in the Lausanne field. Kwaou-Mathey recently ran 12.99 (2025 World #2) to win the French Championship.
