North Carolina A&T Football is looking to bounce back from a 1-11 2024 season and are returning several key players to do so in 2025.

At quarterback, Kevin White is ready to lead the team in his junior season after appearing in four games during the 2024 season. In those four games, he threw for 444 total yards, one touchdown, and one interception, also rushing for 49 yards and one touchdown. After starting quarterback Justin Fomby graduated, White is next in line for the starting spot. 

On the ground, top running back Shimique Blizzard ran for 431 yards on 104 carries and had three touchdowns. Cameron Dalrymple, who had 269 yards on 62 carries, is also returning and gives promising depth for the running backs as well as useful experience. 

At receiver, a core group is returning, including four of the top five receivers, Jayvonne Dillard, Anthony Rucker, Jamison Warren, and Laquan Veney, bringing depth and consistent targets for White. Rucker led the team in receiving touchdowns with three, also hauling in 19 catches for 210 yards. Dillard led the group with 33 catches for 393 yards. 

On defense, more key players are returning, including top tackler Kade Moledor. Moledor, a linebacker, had 84 total tackles, 36 solo, and half a sack for a loss of nine yards. Though none of the team’s sack leaders are returning, the defensive veterans know how to get players to the ground. Mack David II had 50 tackles, 33 solo and one sack for a loss of 12 yards. Steven Davis II leads the secondary with 45 tackles, 29 solo. 

Janaz Sumpter led the team in interceptions last season and is now returning for his fifth year, intercepting two passes and returning them for 17 yards. He also had 24 tackles, 14 solo. 

North Carolina A&T has the right group of veterans to be successful in 2025, and now looks to have some CAA success after being winless in the conference last season. 

NC A&T Football Head Coach

Shawn Gibbs is in his first season as the head coach of the North Carolina A&T Aggies, where he was previously the running backs coach. Now, he comes to the Aggies as the head coach, his second time in that role, as he was in the lead at Fort Valley State University for three years, where he posted a 22-9 record. 

Now, Gibbs looks to turn the struggling program around, and in his twelfth season in Aggieland, he is in charge of the program instead of being an assistant. He is known as one of the best running back coaches in the country, using his backs to lead the Aggies to five MEAC championships. He coached Tarik Cohen, who went on to be drafted by the Chicago Bears and was an NFL All-Pro. 

With Gibbs at the helm, North Carolina A&T has all of the right resources to be successful.
