There's no doubt that the pool of competition at this year's Final X is diverse yet equally hungry to claim a spot on Team USA at the 2025 World Championships.

A majority of the matchups seen during Saturday's events feature opponents that have yet to hit the collegiate level going up against veterans that have been around the block more than once. 

But out of all the collegiate athletes or those soon-to-be, the Penn State Nittany Lions make up a significant portion of that representation. Penn State currently has five competitors in the men's Final X, including new commit PJ Duke, ranging across five different weight classes out of nine total.

Although Final X has not been favorable for four out of the five student-athletes, junior Levi Haines has certainly put Penn State on the board. Haines defeated opponent Evan Wick in the men's 79kg series to advance to the World Championships. 

Luke Lilledahl, PJ Duke, Mitchell Mesenbrink, and Josh Barr all suffered a loss during match one.
