Competition is chugging along in Las Vegas, Nev., at the 2025 USA Wrestling US Open, continuing five days of wrestling at The Expo at World Market Center.

As part of the U.S. World Team trials, the US Open serves as one of the most important stops in America’s top Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestler's quest to secure a ticket to Final X, or even a spot on the U.S. World Team.

Day 4 has begun, which means that the U20 Freestyle division has been set into action.

With a plethora of talented wrestlers, one who stands above many is Bo Bassett, FloWrestling's No. 4-ranked high school wrestling prospect in the nation, and a multiple-time PIAA State champion.

The electric wrestler will be a major threat in the 65-kg weight class and is sure to have a great run in Las Vegas.

Bo Bassett Secures Third Place At US Open With 12-2 Tech Fall Win

Bassett might have been knocked out of the gold medal race, but his dominance extended into the consolation brackets where he was able to secure a seventh fall throughout his time at the competition.

It took him 1 minute and 26 seconds to quickly dispatch Noah Nininger 12-2 in the consolation final, securing bronze.

Bassett Bounces Back In Consolation Semifinals With 11-0 Tech Fall

Bo Bassett has fully recovered from his semifinals loss in a recovery semifinals match in the consolation bracket. In his match against Alex Braun, Bassett secured a tech fall 11-0 in 1 minute, 15 seconds.

Bo Bassett Knocked Out Of Semifinals With 5-2 Loss To Luke Stanich

Well, they say that all good things must come to an end, and for Bassett, the pursuit of gold comes to an end. In a rare loss, Bassett was taken out of gold contention with a 5-2 loss to Lehigh's Stanich.

His journey isn't over just yet though, as he moves to the consolation bracket to claim bronze.

Five Matches, Five Falls. Bo Bassett Secures Tech In US Open Quarterfinals

Bo Bassett is absolutely ripping through the brackets again at the US Open, grabbing another tech fall to put his total falls to five, the last three which were all techs. In those last three matches, Bassett has outscored opponents 36-5.

Bo Bassett Slots Into The Quarterfinals At The USA Wrestling US Open

Another match, another fall for Bassett, as he takes down Jesse Grajeda with a 16-5 tech. The PIAA champion will take on Eren Sement in the quarterfinals next, kicking off on Sunday afternoon, April 27.

Third Fall Added By Bassett At US Open With Tech Fall Win

Once again, Bassett brings his a-game to the mat, securing a 10-0 tech fall over Tyson Peach in 1 minute, 56 seconds.
