Here's what to expect during the 2025 women's freestyle US Open finals on Friday, April 25 at 9 p.m. ET.

The women’s freestyle US Open finals begin at 9 p.m. ET on Friday, April 25. Below is a breakdown for each of the 10 matchups.
Every champion receives an automatic bid to Final X on Saturday, June 14, at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The winner of Final X represents the United States at the 2025 Senior World Championships on September 13-21 in Zagreb, Croatia.
50 kg: Audrey Jimenez vs Erin Golston
Jimenez, 19, recently made the U20 World Team by outscoring five opponents by a 60-0 count. The Four-time age-level World medalist made waves when she won the 2023 US Open as a high schooler. She reached 2023 Final X and the 2024 best-of-three series at the Olympic Trials, falling to 2024 Olympic gold medalist Sarah Hildebrandt in all four matches.
The Tucson, Arizona, native is a freshman at Lehigh University.
Golston just turned 32 on April 20 and has never looked better. She secured three falls and a tech, including a pin over three-time age-level World champion Emily Shilson in the semis The Lake Hills, Illinois, native has made six national teams but has never represented the United States at the Senior World Championships, but has two age-level World medals.

53 kg: Felicity Taylor vs Brianna Gonzalez
The storylines are plentiful in this match.
Taylor and Gonzalez were University of Iowa teammates, wrestling in the 2024 116-pound regional and national finals.
Gonzalez won the 2024 NCWWC regional, 9-3.
Taylor returned the favor less than two weeks later with a 9-2 win in the 2024 National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championship finals, ending her college career with two national titles and five finals appearances.
They met again at the 2024 Olympic Trials, with Taylor winning, 9-4.
Will Gonzalez tie the series, or will Taylor extend her lead? Gonzalez secured wins over college national champions Jaslynn Gallegos and Sage Mortimer, and 2023 US Open champion Katie Gomez.
Taylor wrestled three seasons at McKendree under Sam Schmitz before transferring to Iowa.

55 kg: Everest Leydecker vs Cristelle Rodriguez
Leydecker is the breakout star of the US Open after her semifinal win over 2024 Senior World teamer Areana Villaescusa in the semis. The high school junior didn’t surrender a point at the recent U20 World Team Trials and has only surrendered one point at the US Open.
She teched WCWA champion Julia Vidallon in her opening match before an impressive win over two-time NCWWC champion and two-time age-level World medalist Amani Jones.
Rodriguez recently won her second NAIA title for Doane University after winning the 2024 U20 World Championships. She has three 10-0 techs as she seeks her first Senior World team.

Winchester has two Senior World medals: gold in 2019 and silver in 2023. The Oakland, California, native made the 2020 Olympic team at 53 kg and is the favorite to win the US Open after three straight techs.
Martinez reached the 2024 55 kg World Team Trials finals, falling to Villaescusa in straight matches. The former North Central star is a gritty wrestler who fights for every position.

Beck reached the 2024 World Team Trials finals and 2023 Final X, falling to Page and Winchester in straight matches. She has a good snatch single and a tight gut wrench.
Nette holds a 2-1 series lead over Beck, but Beck secured a 4-4 win over Nette in the 2023 US Open semifinals before taking the title with a win over Maya Nelson in the finals. Nette made the 2022 Senior World team and is a two-time WCWA champion.
Beck earned a tough 6-5 win over two-time age-level World medalist Lexi Janiak in the semifinals. Nette dominated her side of the bracket, including a 10-0 tech over 2023 US Open champion Xochitl Mota-Pettis.

Miracle brings a truckload of credentials to her fourth match against Nwachukwu. She’s made two Olympic teams and has two World silver medals. That’s on top of making 12 age-level/senior World teams and winning four age-level World medals.
The former Campbellsville star appears in top form after teching her way to the finals.
Nwachukwu survived a semifinal scare but scored late to defeat Alara Boyd, 12-11. The San Jose, California, native won three NAIA titles and a bronze medal at the 2022 U20 World Championships. She has explosive moves, and her double from space is her go-to move.
Can Nwachukwu blast her way to the title, or should we expect another Miracle?

Drury pinned Mir at the 2024 Adrian Invite after Mir took a 4-1 lead.
Mir pinned Drury at the 2025 National Duals after Drury took a 6-2 lead.
They get to settle it (for now) in the 2025 US Open finals.
Mir finished fifth at the 2024 National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships for Iowa as a freshman before transferring to North Central, where she finished second in 2025.
Drury finished second at the 2024 National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships for King and fifth this year. She reached the best-of-three finals at the 2024 World Team Trials where she fell in straight matches to Macey Kilty, the same opponent who defeated Mir in this year’s college national finals. Kilty accepted her berth to Final X, so one of these two will face her again.
Mir is gritty and in your face. Drury is dangerous and selective.
This one will be fun.

She faces Piearcy, a 2019 WCWA and NAIA champion for Menlo College, who reached the 2022 World Team Trials Challenge tournament finals.

Glaude was a two-time national champion for McKendree and a 2018 U23 World bronze medalist. She won a 7-0 semifinal match over her former college teammate Joye Levendusky to reach the finals.

Here we go again! Round 15 of Welker vs Makoyed.
Welker holds an 11-3 series lead, but 2024 was a strange year for the rivalry.
Welker defeated Makoyed at the 2024 NWCA National Duals finals and the 2024 National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships, lifting Iowa to titles over North Central at both events.
Several weeks later, Makoyed defeated Welker at the 2024 Olympic Trials, giving her a spot on the national team and the 76 kg spot at the U23 World Championships.
That pushed Welker down to 72 kg to make the U23 World team, and forced both to 72 kg for the 2024 World Team Trials.
Welker defeated Makoyed in straight matches in the Senior World Team Trials finals, but both won U23 World titles since they were at different weights. Welker eventually won a bronze medal at the 2024 Senior World Championships.
