The 2025 NCAA Championships provided us with historic feats, upsets and dozens of notable facts and figures. Flowrestling's Andy Hamilton and Andrew Spey took a dive into some of the compelling stats that came out of the national tournament in Philadelphia with some assistance from the Mat Talk Almanac. The multi-part series continues with a look at the performance by the Iowa Hawkeyes.

— Iowa finished fourth with 81 points. It’s the 17th straight year the Hawkeyes have placed inside the top five at the NCAA Championships.
— Drake Ayala, Michael Caliendo and Stephen Buchanan reached the finals, extending Iowa’s string of consecutive years with an NCAA finalist to 35.
— Buchanan is Iowa’s first 197-pound national champion. He also became the first wrestler to earn All-America honors for three Division I schools — Wyoming, Oklahoma and Iowa.
— The three finalists are the most for the Hawkeyes since 2021.
— Iowa has been represented in the 133-pound finals 10 times since 2000 — one behind Oklahoma State for the national lead during that stretch.
— With his win in the 133-pound quarterfinals, Ayala extended Iowa’s streak of consecutive years with an All-American to 53.
— The Hawkeyes had five All-Americans. Only four teams — Penn State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State and Iowa — had at least four All-Americans.
