The William & Mary offensive lineman earned 1st Team FCS All-American honors in 2023 and 2024 and teamed with current Detroit Lion Colby Sorsdal in 2022 to power one of the nation's most prolific rushing attacks.
After a standout, four-year career starting for the Tribe, Grant is poised to be among the first FCS prospects selected in the 2025 NFL draft.
Who Is Charles Grant?
Charles Grant landed at William & Mary in the spring of 2021 via Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Virginia. He flew well under the radar as a prospect from the 2020 graduating class, having no star rating from 247Sports.
Grant emerged as an immediate impact player on the Tribe line, however, moving into the starting rotation as a freshman.
By his sophomore season, Grant established himself as one of the best offensive linemen in the nation. He plowed holes for a rushing attack that averaged 265.8 rushing yards per game en route to 11 wins and an outright Coastal Athletic Association title for William & Mary.
Grant continued to assert himself in 2023 and 2024, earning 1st Team All-American status in both seasons. Grant also carries the flag proudly for William & Mary, spending all four years with the Tribe in the modern era of the open transfer portal.
"William & Mary saw my potential, and they took that shot and offered me," Grant told TribeAthletics.com's Dave Johnson. "I thought it was right to repay them for that. Plus, I was named captain, so I wanted to have a chance to lead my guys and go out with the people I started with."
Grant is also a participant in the Be The Match bone marrow donation program that longtime Villanova coach Andy Talley helped spearhead, and which William & Mary coach Mike London continues to champion today.
Combining leadership with proven ability in a 6-foot-4, 300-pound frame, Grant has all the makings of an outstanding professional lineman.

NFL Draft Round Projection
Projection columnists consistently tab Grant for the early-to-mid 2nd Round of the 2025 NFL draft. However, much could depend on when and where the handful of tackles forecasted to go before Grant end up being taken.
If there is an early run on the position in the 1st Round, the prospect of Grant going late the first day isn't unrealistic. That also depends on the teams that have shown the most interest in the Tribe tackle and where they select.
Best Future Team Fit
Any number of teams could use front-line help. Indeed, the variety of organizations that have brought Grant in during the evaluation period serves as a testament to the widespread interest in his services.
NFL.com's breakdown of ideal prospects for every franchise's first two picks has Grant slotted with the Houston Texans.
However, of the organizations that have publicly shown the most interest in the William & Mary star, the Baltimore Ravens may be the best fit for Grant. Baltimore thrives with a multifaceted rushing attack, coming off a 2024 in which it racked up the most yards on the ground of any team in the league.
Grant's experience in a varied, run-heavy offense that makes frequent use of the quarterback as a ball-carrier could make for a smooth NFL transition.
When Is The NFL Draft?
The 2025 NFL Draft is scheduled to take place from April 24-26 at Lambeau Field and its adjacent Titletown District in Green Bay, Wisconsin, home to the Green Bay Packers.
It is the first time that Green Bay has ever hosted the NFL Draft, which has been held every year since 1936. The Tennessee Titans, who finished with the league’s joint-worst record in the 2024 season at 3-14 overall, have the first overall pick.
