Carr took an early lead in the match, securing six points before Takatani could record any.
Despite a fight to even the match, Carr consistently kept a secure lead over Takatani.

Takatani is a Japanese freestyle wrestler who defeated two World champion wrestlers in his pursuit of the silver medal in the Olympics.
Carr is a two-time NCAA champion with a collegiate record of 120-5. He is a five-time NCAA Qualifier and All-American, with a plethora of career accolades to his name.
He has continued his wrestling career since graduating from Iowa State, recently competing in the 2025 Grand Prix Zagreb Open, where he won silver.
