
Tusculum forward Jami Tham has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played during Week 4 of the 2022-2023 season, the conference announced Monday.
Tham, a graduate student from Arlington, Virginia, averaged 21 points and 15.5 rebounds, while shooting 64.5% from the field, as the Pioneers extended their winning streak to five games with victories over Lander (77-64) and Lincoln Memorial (67-38).
Tham scored 20 points on 9-for-15 shooting and had 13 rebounds in the win over Lander on Wednesday.
She then scored a season-high 22 points and matched her season-best with 18 rebounds against Lincoln Memorial on Saturday.
Tham leads Division II with eight double-doubles in as many games, and she is in the top 5 nationally in rebounding at a SAC-best 13 per game.
